Join our expanding team to bring positive change to the community!  Seeking clinicians (LMHP or LMHP-E) to be a part of the continuum of crisis services for the New River Valley Community Services Board. You will work in the community with our law enforcement partners in Montgomery County. This team serves individuals with serious mental illness in acute crisis who are high risk, in addition to those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disorders, and substance use or co-occurring disorders.

Clinicians provide coverage on a Co-Response Team as they work in the field with law enforcement officers responding to 911 calls. You will assess, diagnose, provide crisis intervention services and determine the best next step for an individual. For those individuals who are extremely high-risk it may be determined that hospitalization is needed. You will have vast knowledge of community resources and referral agencies to connect people in crisis with appropriate ongoing clinical treatment options and with agencies that may alleviate exacerbating symptoms. Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychotropic medications, and medical conditions is important to be able to connect individuals with psychiatric services, when appropriate.

Employees accrue paid time off, receive comprehensive and competitive health, dental, and vision insurance plan options, agency-funded life insurance, health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Accounts, and enrollment in the Virginia State Retirement System. If you are interested in continuing your education, working at NRVCS qualifies you to receive discounts at Liberty and Capella Universities.

NRVCS’ clinical sites are National Health Service Corps (NHSC) approved for clinical student loan repayment and qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The NHSC program offers behavioral and mental health clinicians who work 2 years at a NHSC approved site a chance to receive up to $50,000 by working full-time, or up to $25,000 by working part-time to repay student loans. PSLF is a federal program available to full-time employees that forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you have made 120 qualifying payments under an accepted payment plan.

This position requires non-traditional hours that will include some overnights, weekends, and holiday coverage.

Minimum Salary:  Clinician II (unlicensed) – $56,052 (You may receive clinical supervision for licensure on-site or within the CSB agency).

                                     Clinician II (licensed) - $70,438

$5,000 sign on bonus available with 2 year commitment.
