As the MPACT Community Advocate you will support individuals in crisis, while establishing an atmosphere of safety, empathy, and mutual respect. This position is an essential part of the YSS and Law Enforcement teams, coordinating with other community supports and service providers. You will provide on-site, participant-centered services in order to help them build or restore participant connections within their community, school, and family, while also alleviating identified areas of concern from law enforcement. Other responsibilities include:

• Supporting clients by serving as a role model, establishing positive relationships, showing empathy, providing information, connecting clients to appropriate resources, and advocating for specialized services.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders, including law enforcement, school officials, mental health providers, community resources, and YSS team members.
• Managing emergencies and handling crisis intervention, including alerting authorities to major incidents.
• Providing prompt response to calls and other outreach, submitting accurate and timely documentation, adhering to agency policies, and participating in consultations and meetings.
• Seeking improvement through ongoing training to maintain knowledge of community resources, mental health issues and practices, behavioral intervention, crisis intervention, and relevant laws and law enforcement tactics.
• Primary shift is 2:00 pm to midnight, 40 hours per week.
