The Jail Diversion Program Director provides leadership, clinical direction and operational oversight to JDP programs and Training and Technical Assistance Center for Co-Response.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain overall administrative, fiscal and clinical functions for each Jail Diversion Program and oversee the Training and Technical Assistance Center.
• Responsible for clinical programming of services in coordination with the PES Leadership and Quality Management teams to ensure that performance specifications and grant requirements are being achieved.
• Act as liaison to police departments utilizing co-response clinicians.
• Stay abreast of innovative and emerging practices that are related to community policing.
• Present jail diversion data and practices to funders and present at conferences related to behavioral health and criminal justice.
• Develop and expand the number of co-reponse programs statewide.
• Consult to emerging programs statewide and nationally.
• Participate in statewide provider meetings for networking and program improvement opportunities.

• Provide focused leadership, support and supervision to program staff. 
• Actively engage in Quality Management activities to continuously explore and improve delivery of services and streamline systems.
• Manage grant applications, reporting and data requests.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, trauma informed, culturally sensitive environment and treatment approach.
• Ensure that clinical services are being delivered in accordance with Advocates clinical philosophy, The Advocates Way and all licensing and regulatory bodies in coordination with Behavioral Health Leadership and Quality Management Teams.  
• Provide on-call availability to program staff as needed for consultation.
• Seek and create opportunities to collaborate across divisions.
• Participate in regular PES supervisors’ meetings.
• Liaison to other community providers and related agencies and develop community resources, as needed.
• Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
• Ensure that people receiving services and staff are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.

Qualifications

• Masters or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with a minimum of five years of clinical, operational, and supervisory experience.
• Must be eligible for Massachusetts independent practice licensure in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
• Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong assessment and interviewing skills.
• Excellent supervisory, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
